Actually, I knew this piece of information like two weeks ago but I was too lazy to blog about it.
Some of you might have already known it cos I couldn't keep my mouth shut when there's something big to announce... hehehehe...
Here goes...
Two weeks ago, I was summoned to my big boss' room. Inside waiting for me were of course my big boss Renette and my second big boss Seb. Wa lau eh... I thought what happened sia??? Going to tell me about retrenchment is it??? Scared the shit out of me man...
Okie la... the news was better than retrenchment but it was definitely not a piece of very good news either...
I was told that our bank has not been making profits for the past few months. In order for the bank to cut costs, they have decided to force the people of my department to take unpaid leave. Yes, you heard it right... unpaid leave. In another words, pay cut la.
The rest of the staff are to work on a 4-day work week which means to say approximately 20% pay cut lo.
Since I'm going for my maternity leave for 4 months, this method obviously is not going to work for me. So... my bosses suggest that I take a 5 months maternity leave with the 5th month being unpaid instead.
So should I be happy anot???
Happy cos I can have more time with QiQi and Baby?
Or
Sad cos I will have no income for a month???
I really dunno. I'm taking things one step at a time. Hopefully, the economy will pick up by the end of this year... which is highly possible provided that the stupid irritating swine flu doesn't worsen.
