Happy New Year
Wednesday, December 31, 2008

Here's wishing everybody a Happy 2009!!!

Time flies. In a few hours time, we shall be in Year 2009.

Hmm... what have I done or achieved in Year 2008??? Let me see....

********************

I guessed I took my life's most important step in Year 2008. I finally stepped out of my comfort zone to pursue something I really wanted in my life - a banking job. Thanks to my pal - Michelle "Huang Man Li Zhu"... hehehe

For the past few years in CPF, I had always wanted to leave that place in search for greener pastures outside. I had a few opportunities to leave then BUT the colleagues there kept me going all these while (Of course not all of them were good la).

However, no matter how good the colleagues were, I got to think for myself right? I spent SGD 20K for a Bachelor cert. I do not want to let my effort and money go down the drain just like that. So when opportunity came knocking at my door again in April 2008, I decided to take up the challenge and move ahead to something very new to me.

It wasn't easy for me to adapt to the new environment initially cos everything was so new to me. I couldn't even understand the language my new colleagues were talking. In addition, I had allowed myself to stay on one job for too many years (6.5 years to be exact) so it was very uncomfortable for me to start afresh then.

Fortunately for me, my new colleagues were very nice to me. Not only CPF has good people de... good people are everywhere... wahahaha...

7 months into the job and I personally feel this job is not exactly my cup of tea. However, it shall serve as the platform of my banking career. Hopefully everything turns out well and I would be a career woman in few years to come... wahahahaha...

********************

One thing I think I have achieved in Year 2008 is the ability to take care of a baby. 1 year into motherhood has made me a more "motherly" person.

I've learnt how to love QiQi more and more, learnt how to coax QiQi to sleep, learnt to cope with her temper, learnt to get her to do things that I want her to do, etc etc etc. All these need a lot of time and patience and sacrifices de okie... 母爱是伟大的!!!

********************

I live with my parents once again in Year 2008. I moved out and stayed with Ah Long's family for a few months when we wedded and had my own home shortly after. Since 2005, I have not lived with my parents.

I believe 2005 was a torturing year for my parents cos both my bro and I were not at home. I moved out and my brother was enlisted to go NS. All of the sudden, my parents were all alone.

Luckily, all was short-lived. They sold their Dover flat and moved in to stay with me now.

My small 4-room flat now comprises of so many of us. Though crowded and messy, it still feels great. That's the wonderful part of staying with your parents. You will never appreciate your parents until you experience life on your own.

********************

2008 is also a year where my salary increases the fastest. If I were to stay in CPF and score an average B every year, it would take me another 4 years to get to my current pay.

Fortunately or unfortunately for me, this pay is very unstable la. If the market situation is going to be any worse, this pay of mine would be *PUFF*......... gone. In another words, retrenchment la. But then again, my pay is the lowest among my colleagues so I should consider myself safe in the event of retrenchment ba??? I dunno... I'll just keep my fingers cross hoping for better future.

********************

I have made a lot of new friends and eliminated one bitch out of my friends list - which is a good thing.

As you all know, that FAT ASS is that one bitch I'm referring to la. I'm glad she's out of my life and I guess out of some of my friends' life as well. Actually my friends should thank me for getting her out of your life cos having such a person as a "friend" doesn't serve you any good. Not helpful, super attitude, machiam princess and loads of other bad points... wahahaha... I know I dun sound good myself but very weird wor... I still got many friends leh... how??? :Þ

One friend out but a lot of new friends in. I've got to know super Loser Thaim Eng, superstar Jay Chou lookalike Ed Cai, super shifu Winnie, super click "ngak ngak" Sharon and Kelly and Serene and many others... Looks like 2008 is a friendship year for me.

********************

Hiyah... that's about it la... I blog until I forget to watch my "Little Nyonya"... 9.35pm liao la... shit man... Bye... Happy New Year!!!

Christmas 2008
Tuesday, December 30, 2008

My Christmas blog.

Was blessed with gifts this Christmas... only not me wor... QiQi had loads of them as well. Thanks to all of my friends. I like them very much but my favourite gift has got to be the LV wallet given by Ah Long lo... obviously right... wahahahaha.... now I finally have a decent wallet to store all my cards.

This year, my friends and I celebrated Christmas at Mrs Chee's home. As usual, we each brought a dish to her house. Huixian brought Mee Hoon, Yuling made some jelly, Yuzhen cooked fishballs, Mengru bought pizza and Aileen bought a log cake.

I wanted to fry some nuggets initially but again... laziness caught the better of me. I bought two boxes of nuggets from McDonalds to Mrs Chee's house in the end.... wahahaha... which was a clever move I think cos
  1. McDonald's nuggets definitely taste better than my cooking.
  2. I can have unlimited curry sauces for the nuggets.
  3. Most importantly, I do not have to clean up the mess in my kitchen after the cooking. Save me a lot of trouble you know... :Þ

Our theme this year was .............................

"OR-BIT"

Of course, this theme was suggested by none other than our Siao La La - Miss Coriss Tay HuiXian lo... but we all like it... wahahaha

I seldom put my super ugly photos in my own blog de... cos hyao mah... but this time round, it's kind of difficult not posting them up cos most of the photos are ugly la... wahahahaha.... Have a great laugh ya...

Let the party begin...
Santarina on the go... and eating nuggets in case they were all gone...
Caught me being lazy again. I simply bought a set of Crabtree hand cream and distributed them on that day... clever right??? wahahaha
After dinner, it's relaxing time... well actually not... it's taking care of bb time. WenLei taking care of Jerry and me taking care of QiQi... Yuling taking a breather
More and more people joining us in the relaxation corner... hohoho
See this pic and you will know who are the hyaos one lo... no no no... it's camera sensitive... :Þ
Finally Ah Long arrived at 12.15am due to work commitment. Look at my Qi's sleepy face.... hiyoh... Qi's dress too big for her liao... accidentally "Lou Yi Dian"
Three hot mamas with their babies
Here comes our "Or-Bit" photos.
We were all speaking about how "or-bit" this is or how "or-bit" that is but who exactly knows the meaning of "or-bit"??? In the end, it turned out that our definition of "or-bit" is something like a nerd. Big specs, button-up shirt and up-to-waist level shorts/bermudas.
Upclose pic of "or-bit" me
Wahahaha... Yuling looked like someone who just ran out from Mental Hospital de rather than "or-bit" wor... wahahahaha...
Ah Ru was very "or-bit" indeed but...
still lost to our ultimate HuiXian the Super "Or-Bit"
Upclose pic of our winner
Our winner was presented with the "Best Dressed" award. The funny part - the prize was bought by Huixian and won by herself in the end.

Hua Jie's weddding
Wednesday, December 10, 2008

This is a backdated entry for one of my bestest pal - Hua Jie.... hehehe... a super duper backdated entry.

Our Hua Jie finally married herself off on Deevapali's Day 27 November 2008. From then onwards, we can officially call her Mrs .... Mrs ...... eh... simi huh I also dunno....

Anyway, before we married her off, we held a little party for her. Nope nope nope... nothing skimpy or juicy... we just went KTV at Chinatown.

Dun see KTV only wor... the few of us really let our hair down and sang... eh hmmmm.... correction correction... it should be screamed our heart out.

We practically required no mic cos our voice combined together was louder than anything you could imagine. 15 minutes into the singing and all of us were like breathless and voiceless liao...

Sang into the wee hours of the night. Very very happy!!! Thank God and Buddha for blessing me with crazy friends like these. Come to think of it... all my friends (who click with me de) are kind of crazy de leh...

My primary school mates - needless to say, loud and super fun-loving.

Secondary school mates - They are the only reason I never regretted entrying Jin Tai Sec. My Sec Sch life was damn happening lo... got underground food somemore... mai siao siao

Poly mates - Actually they siao one but act not siao so I appear to be the siao-est among them.

CPF mates - Siao with a Capital S lo. Dun need me to explain more.

Current colleagues - Also siao one... wahahahaha...

Those who dun click with me hor are.................................................. WHATEVER!!! I can't even be bothered to describe them. Waste of time.

Pictures taken on the day of the party

See their expressions and you'll know the Mudpie is deliciously nice lo See see see... so nice until we take pic also got one hand come out "kapo" the Mudpie loTraditional group photo is a must de la

Let the fight begin. Ah June totally ignored the fight. Happily singing away wor... peace somemore... :Þ

A picture says a thousand words. Ah June loves singing and Ah May is crazy... wahahahaha May May's expressions hor... wahahahaha

The "See Boon" VS The "Chor Lor"

See.... Ribena drink water also so 'see boon'... legs close together, mouth small small Wahahaha... machiam wants to eat the whole mic liao wor... Ah Lian at KTV Another traditional group picture taken using timer. See May May's expression again...

Anyway, as I was saying, Hua Jie married herself off on Deepavali's Day. She had the biggest bunch of sisters la I tell you. So many until I also forgot how many were there altogether.

I thought I was exaggerating enough to ask 10 of my bestest pals to be my sisters during my wedding day liao but Hua jie lagi best lo... see pics below and count it yourself.

This was taken before Rong Sheng came. We were shouting "Rong Sheng, you better watch out!!!" Look at QiQi's shock expression. We were damn loud lo.
Serious a bit
Our crops for Rong Sheng. We had coconut trees, saris, pong pong, skittles, herbal tea in milk bottle, bras, etc.... ke lian wor Rong Sheng
Rong Sheng finally managed to get in. :Þ

Hua Jie had her wedding dinner held on the following day at Waterfront Corpthone. That hotel was my ideal wedding place too leh.

It had high ceiling and it's pillarless and most importantly, the curtain behind the stage would open up during the dinner and reveal a beautiful scenary outside lo... so romantic...The food itself was okie only but the ambience there was terrific la.

I'll give a 3 and a half star for the food, 5 for the ambience and 5 for the service. The hotel actually gave Hua Jie two rooms leh - one wedding suite which was normal and one room especially for her helpers. Very good right???

Ah Long and I were very happy to be there to witness Hua Jie and RongSheng's wedding. I got to meet up with some really long-time-no-see friends there too.... machiam like DND like that... so happy!!!

Picture time!!!

Busy Busy Busy - Hua Jie with her makeup artiste, preparing for her ROM
Rong Sheng's turn. Chaotic man.
Rong Sheng asked us if we know how to knot a tie. Surprisingly, no one knows wor... wahahaha... so Hua Jie bo bian lo... got to do it herself
Sisters' side also hao bu dao na li qu. ROM solemnisation was at 6.30pm but they were still dolling up themselves at around 6.15pm lo.
Ironing somemore lo... all for May May, the super Mo Shen
Nonetheless, we made it to their solemnisation. :Þ
It was still too early for the dinner. So after the ROM solemnisation, we hang around, happily taking photos lo... got DND feel ar
Oh.... Hua Jie's two beautiful receptionists... hehehe
So happy!!!
That's it for my Hua Jie's wedding.
Here's wishing Hua Jie and RongSheng a blissful marriage and faster produce a baby for my QiQi to bully... wahahaha...

Laziness
Tuesday, December 9, 2008

Laziness just gets the better of me. As you can see, no posts for a very long time already... and yes... there are no other better reasons to describe me but lazy.

Super lazy to switch on the PC. Extra lazy to even walk to the PC, not to mention to think of what to write... so might as well dun write... wahahahaha...

But after a good diarrhoea, I think my laziness is wearing off le... so here I am.... writing again.

Okie.... a brief description of how I got my diarrhoea.

Went to Cedele with my poly classmates last Thursday. Two of whom I haven't met for a number of years. I suggested going somewhere got air-con so one of them suggested Cedele.

I've never been to these kind of restaurants cos eating sandwiches is just not me la... but since we haven't met up for quite a while, it is always best to be accomodating de right... so okie lo...

Wa sey, the Cedele ar... I tell you. The whole sandwich I ordered was filled with fresh lettuce. As you know, I am those kind that seldom eat vegetables one. Out of the sudden ask me to eat so much vegetables.... a bit indigestible for me leh.

Around 4pm the same day, my stomach started making noise... and then ached... and then it's to the toilet. Once it started, it couldn't stop.

So there you have it... the cause of my diarrhoea. LETTUCE!!! Now who says vegetables is good for health??? wahahaha... I diarrhoea until Sunday okie... almost dehydrate.

Anyway, I'm back in good health. Ate Swensen's crayfish pasta for lunch today and Waruku's tempura dunno what set for dinner. I'm eating everything back to compensate what I've lost for the past few days... wahahaha...

*dun worry about my weight - I'm still in my 40s category. Not bad sia considering I'm 3 months pregnant*

I'm looking forward for Christmas now. My room is filled with pressies, pressies and more pressies... sooooo exciting.... 2 Christmas parties coming right up and I can't wait for it already. Mrs Chee, prepare more food ar... :Þ
