THAT'S WHAT I CALLED LOUSY SERVICE!!!
Monday, September 29, 2008

Okie people. Here's me telling you all to either

1) Go personally down to any Pizza Hut branch (except the Bukit Merah branch) for pizza if you have the urge to have one.

OR

(2) Simply boycott the stupid Pizza Hut. Choose other pizzas available in the market. I believe their service is far better than Pizza Hut's.

Here's why.

My brother ordered a CURRY CHICKEN pan pizza and 6 drumlets at 12.29pm on 29 September 2008. Was told that it would need an hour time before our lunch could be delivered to us. Fair enough. It was lunch time so we did not make a fuss.

Our stomachs were growling in hunger and at around 1.30pm, our long awaited pizza finally arrived. The delivery man passed my bro the pizza with the receipt and my bro checked the receipt and passed him the money.

So far so good right??? Okie... let me ask you a question before I go on.

Now, hands up for those who checked the pizza before letting the delivery man go?

I bet no one would do that cos you would assume that the pizza delivered is correct right???

WRONG!!!

After an hour of waiting, we were given a HAWAIIAN pizza instead of the requested CURRY CHICKEN albeit the receipt clearly had it written as "1 LRG PAN CURRY CHICKEN". So please tell me whose fault was it???

Evidence 1
Evidence 2. This is obviously HAWAIIAN pizza.
I tell you... a hungry woman is an angry woman. I was so pissed that I called the Call Centre requesting for a change.

A lady picked up my call and told me that a new pizza would be sent to me in the quickest time possible. She could not confirm the timing with me as she needed to clarify it with the branch involved.

Fair enough. I hang up the phone and walked out the room.

I saw my bro eating the HAWAIIAN pizza (cos he was so damn hungry la... could he be blamed?? NO la)

I called the Call Centre back, telling them that the wrong pizza had been eaten but still I demanded for the correct pizza to be delivered to me. This guy from Call Centre could not make a decision so he put me on hold.

In less than one minute, he returned and requested my bro to answer the call. I found it ridiculous but passed the phone to my bro nonetheless.

The next moment, a stupid man by the name of SHAH called the line which my bro used to order the pizza. He was the branch manager of Bukit Merah Pizza Hut. He asked for my bro and I told him my bro was on the line with another Pizza Hut officer which he did not seem to understand. Stupidity number ONE.

He then asked if the wrong pizza had been consumed. Stupidity number TWO. Of cos it was consumed otherwise he would not be calling, would he?

I could not remember if he asked me to pay for the CURRY CHICKEN pizza BUT his attitude was damn LOUSY, I tell you! LOUSY to the power of infinity.

I was quite okie with my tone initially BUT something about what he said really pissed me off and I started screaming at the top of my lung.

This was what happened

Me : Are you telling me that I have to wait another one hour for the correct pizza to be sent to me.
(pissed off but tone still okie)

Stupid so-called manager SHAH : Yes, madam.
(damn attitude)

Me : You must be joking right. I have to wait 2 HOURS to have my pizza delivered to me.
(pissed off but tone still okie)

Stupid so-called manager SHAH : No I am not joking. In the first place, it is COMMON SENSE not to consume the wrong pizza delivered.
(KNN!!! So was he implying that we got no common sense??? What is this??? Was he even using his common sense when talking to customers or was that the way Pizza Hut trained him to treat the customers? And didn't he has the COMMON SENSE to know that the customer waited one full hour and was damn hungry at that point of time. As a matter of fact, the customers actually had the COMMON SENSE to eat whatever that was presented to them instead of waiting for another god-damn hour. So who was having no common sense here?)

Me : Why not? It's no fault of us that you guys delivered the wrong pizza NOT FORGETTING we have waited for one hour. Now you are telling me that I can only have my lunch at 2.30pm!!!
(totally pissed off now and practically screaming at him)

Blah blah blah blah....
(These blah blah blahs are here cos I cannot remember what exactly happened. I tell you, I was so angry that I could not even talk properly. I shall not defame that stupid fellow for whatever that did not happen (or it did happen just that I couldn't remember). Whatever it is, I swear that everything stated here is 100% accurate. I did not add any salt or pepper to make everything sound to my advantage. If he dares, ask him go play back his recording and listen to his damn attitude!)

Me : I don't care. I want the correct pizza delivered to me within an hour time.

Stupid so-called manager SHAH : ARE YOU THREATENING ME???
(which part of the sentence is threatening you tell me? Does he even know the meaning of threatening? I bet he doesn't cos he's S-T-U-P-I-D! Stupid!!!)

Me : Which part of my sentence is threatening? Am I using a knife right now or am I using the F-U-C-K U word right now?

Blah blah blah blah....
(HOT HOT HOT!!!)

Stupid so-called manager SHAH : Is there anything else then?
(with super attitude)

Me : Yes, I want to speak to your manager and higher authority regarding this.

Stupid so-called manager SHAH : Okie.
(Okie his stupidity head!!! I received NO CALLS AT ALL up till now. It's 11.45pm right now. Obviously he is treating his customers like SHIT.)

How can such person become a manager??? Even a cleaner has better attitude than him. Throughout the conversation, NOT a single word of apology from him. I tell you... from my experience with people, this stupid SHAH is probably someone with a FAT ASS. Damn attitude and no apology.

He better gets his facts right.

(1) I am not making an unreasonable request for demanding my CURRY CHICKEN pan pizza to be delivered to me.

(2) I am informing them in advance that the wrong HAWAIIAN pizza has been consumed. He should say that I should not have done so in a nice way and NOT saying that I have got no common sense. Don't forget that I AM THE CUSTOMER and THE FAULT OBVIOUSLY LIES WITH THEM!

Anyway, so what if the HAWAIIAN pizza had been consumed??? He was going to throw away that pizza afterall, I assume. Couldn't possibly deliver it to the next person who 'suay suay' ordered a HAWAIIAN pizza, could he??? Stupidity number THREE.

I tell you.... POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Is there any other words worse than POOR??? I'll give it to him without hesitation.

*****************************
I have actually come up with the perfect scenario on how such situation should be dealt with. See below.

Some manager with common sense : Madam, I understand that the wrong pizza had been delivered to your doorstep. I am terribly sorry about this.

Me : Yes, you should be. How could you make such a mistake when the receipt clearly printed Curry Chicken pan pizza? So how long more do I have to wait to have the correct pizza delivered to me?

Some manager with common sense : We are trying our best, Madam. However, I'm sorry to inform you that it may take a while as it is the peak hour right now. We are having the lunch time crowd.

Me : But I am very hungry right now. So you are telling me that I have to wait 2 hours and have my lunch at 2pm?

Some manager with common sense : We are really sorry but please try to understand. You may have a slice of the Hawaiian pizza first. I promise to deliver the Curry Chicken pizza to you in the fastest time possible.

If such things were to happen, I would be a bitch to reprimand the manager further. Anyone reasonable and with common sense would accept their apology and wait for the correct pizza to be delivered. As simple as that. I think I can conduct courses on this. Nah... actually, I'm not good enough to conduct course on this. I'm just using my common sense to deal with an angry customer if I were the manager.

Oops, China did it again!!!
Thursday, September 25, 2008

I don't wanna blog about this initially cos I have said too much about my dislikes towards CHINA liao. However, I cannot suppress my feeling anymore la. Everytime I watch the news, I see news about the tainted milk and it really makes my blood boils.

I really really really don't wanna be someone with discrimination and have any prejudice against any nationalities. However, these unscrupulous, ruthless, unethical, deceitful, immoral assholes people from the Republic of China are doing just it to deepen my hatred against them.

Of course I'm not saying that all Chinese from China are bad but just a few of these people is enough to make me go arghhhhhh....

Yes, it is inevitable and unavoidable for us or the rest of the world to completely ignore China and to stop importing goods from them. Yes, China is one of the growing power of Asia and possibly the most power in the world in time to come. Yes, China's economy is growing by leaps and bounds.

BUT......

Does that mean we must succumb to their immorality???

First, we have them using cardboards as the ingredients of their buns. Then we have them using too much of a harmful substance in manufacturing their toys. Now, we have this tainted milk calamity. There are many other ridiculous and unscrupulous deeds but I can't remember all la.

I tell you... I am super annoyed with this tainted milk incident. How could they harm babies like that??? Babies' only source of food is milk and these #%^$@ merchants actually substitute the nutrients babies require with melamine, a chemical used in plastics, to the milk to make it appear higher in protein.

These merchants don't think of consequences, do they??? So long as they can get more cash into their own pockets, they care less of the safety, health or even lifes of others ya??? DAMN THEM!!!

The most ridiculous part of all is... Their Government.

How could they hide the truth from the world when they already came to know this posionous milk incident several months back???

OH-MY-GOD!!!!!!

Do they not know that more babies would be hurt??? If they had revealed this disgraceful act earlier, maybe the 3 babies (now dead) would not be dead afterall.

The only reason I could think of for them to hide this whole issue is the OLYMPICS.

People from all over the world were already demonstrating, trying their utmost to stop Beijing Olympics then. Can you imagine how this scandal would cause China to lose billions of dollars if the news was released before the Olympics? I bet no one would wanna go China and no country would wanna risk their talented athletes getting poisoned there.

I'm glad that my QiQi is born in Singapore. I've checked her milk le. It's made in Australia... HENG ar. If my QiQi gets hurt in any way, they think an apology is enough meh??? 老娘 will fly all the way to China and kill those merchants with my both hands ar.... 杀杀杀啊!!!

My heart goes out to the parents who lost their kids and I empathize with those kids suffering from kidney stones because of this.

Please people... for your own sake, try as much as possible to buy products NOT made in China. This would mean purchasing items at a much higher cost. It's all worth it de la cos you never know, you know. Sakali sway sway hit by such incident again.... all the money you saved from buying China-made products would then go to your medical expenses liao.

If that really happens *choy choy choy*, then that will be super BO HUA liao cos there's this Singapore saying that goes...

"You rather die than to fall sick in Singapore."

So people... for your own sake ya... stop buying ALL MIC products... especially food.

Don't take for granted that the authorities in Singapore will perform thorough checks on all products and go off thinking that you will be spared from all these. If this is true, the cans of luncheon meat would not have gone off shelves the other time liao.

Before I end this entry, I would like to make a small BHB announcement to those who have intention of buying toys or edible products for my QiQi as her birthday present. Try your best not to buy MIC products hor... especially food... hehehe... gam sia.

We are going to the Zoo Zoo Zoo. How about you you you??? You can come too too too. We are going to the Zoo Zoo Zoo...
Monday, September 22, 2008

My last trip to the zoo (or more specifically Night Safari) was on CPF Family Day Year 2007. I was pregnant with QiQi then. Did not go into the zoo at all cos there were games, food, shows and lucky draws organised by the Board. Too preoccupied with other things than animals... hehehe...

It was a lucky year for me cos I did win the 6th or 7th prize. It's nothing to be proud of la cos the prize was like S$30 NTUC vouchers only lo... super cheapstake but better than nothing... hehe... *No fish prawn also can*

Around evening time, the whole bunch of CPF staff headed to the Night Safari.

In my opinion, Night Safari was a total letdown...

  1. It was so packed with people - Full of CPF staff, tourists and Singaporeans. It's not the safari's fault but it totally killed and slashed my enthusiasm by half when I saw so many people rushing to go to the Night Safari.

  2. Needless for me to mention this point cos it comes hand in hand with this first. With so many people in the Night Safari, expect QUEUES!!!! It was queues after queues after queues. I got to queue to get in, queued to take the ride and queued to watch the performance. Arghhhh.... can die.

  3. The whole place was so dimly lit that I got a headache after the whole experience. The tour guide on the tram would ask you to turn left to see the ponies, turtles and otters and turn right to see the tigers, giraffes and elephants. All these turnings plus the extremely lousy lightings will really make your head and eyes turn lo... dun believe, go try.

Luckily for us, it was free la. I would not spend $20+ per person to go Night Safari cos I dun think it's worth it. One time is enough.

But zoo is a totally different story wor. I must say I truly and thorougly enjoyed myself. There were only 3 of us - Ah Long, QiQi and me but we all enjoyed ourselves. Goes to show one thing. You dun need a lot of people to have fun. You can create fun if you want. You can do it de everybody!!!

Back to my zoo trip. As I was saying, I had a great time. Thanks to the friendly zookeepers and staff. They were all so professional and full of smiles. It makes me feel real proud to be a Singaporean sia. Now who says Singapore service sucks???? I give full marks 10/10 to the service of Singapore Zoological Garden man.

Even before our car drove into the carpark of the zoo, we saw someone waving at us from afar. They actually had someone standing before the carpark waving hi to all guests. So thoughtful...

Then, it was the friendly photographers and zookeepers. I wun go on yakking about the superb, outstanding service Singapore Zoo has for its tourists le. You must go there to find out yourself. BUT get ready some insect repellent cos me kenna bitten by mosquitoes lo. Super itchy.

Here are some photos for your viewing again...

Step in only got photographer offering assistance to take photos for us... good la. The photographer did use her camera to take our photos as well but we never buy the photographs la cos too expensive liao...
1 for S$18
2 for S$30
3 for S$35
That's super expensive lo
And most importantly, my QiQi is not even looking at the camera... so pointless la QiQi was fascinated by the mini waterfall. Took a lot of effort to take this picture.
To prevent QiQi from looking at the waterfall instead of the camera, clever Hot MaMa Ting carry her in front... wahahaha... clever right??? but very tedious lor...
Hohoho.... dun worry dun worry.... those monkeys are fake de.
Otters at the back. They like to 'kway show' wor... so cute... same as my QiQi... but my QiQi is adorable, not cute...
Daddy the lousy photographer. The photo turned out so dark hor also dunno how to adjust the setting a bit de wor. Cannot see my face lo cos I'm tanned mah... only can see QiQi's face... but she was not looking at the correct direction also la... so pointless...
See See See... QiQi wasn't looking la but at least the lightings was correct mah.
Honestly, I dunno what is this. But since it was like standing so near the edge, waiting for visitors to take pictures with her (I assume it's a she cos it's not colourful. Usually in the animal world, males are brighter in colours de, in case you dunno... wahaha), we wouldn't want to disappoint her la... hehehe...
Look how happy QiQi was. She's too young/small to be afraid.
QiQi looking at unknown creature, totally oblivious of the danger we might face... no la.. I was just exaggerating...
I'm sorry that this pic turned out to be 'animal-less'. There were supposed to be brown capuchin at the back de... Talk about lousy photography... wahahaha...
Ya la ya la... I'm the photographer for this pic la...
But people do make mistakes sometimes de watOkie... this is called Cotton Top Tamarin. They are a group of small monkeys found only in Central & South America.

This picture turned out blurred cos this Tamarin was actually very upclose and personal lo. There were no barriers or whatsoever in between us. I was so afraid that it would jump on me that I quickly snapped a pic and got out asap... wahahahaha... which explained the blurriness...
Okie... the Tamarin actually backed off a bit. It was initially super close to Qi. Again, she is too young to know what is danger. She's just being super fascinated with everything around her
Orang utan's feeding time. I thought the zookeepers would give them bananas and fruits but they only gave them water wor. Enough meh??
Look at QiQi's funny expression. Trying to imitate Orang utan... wahaha
Can you see two families??? wahahaha... Ah Meng's descendents and the Kor family.
My two "dears" with deers as background
It's my turn...
J for JEEBRA.... hahaha...
I see you, you see me... I love this picture although my posture like "PS-ing"
QiQi acting shy...
This QiQi... one moment acting shy... the other moment pulling my hair. She was using every bit of her strength to pull lo. !&%&#)$^%$&#. You could find strands of hair in her hand after I finally managed to break away from her. Super pain!
Here comes the giraffes. These giraffes stood at the same old position, with their necks tilted at a certain same degree for the longest time I can imagine. Note that I did not take the following shots using continuous mode but the poses of the giraffes in all photos turned out to be the same... See how 'char taw' they are... hehehe...
Something popped into my mind. Do all tall figurings, be it humans or animals behave the same 'char taw' way??? Giraffes, Yao Ming????Yao Ming, Giraffes??? :Þ
Took some time to get ready for a shot. See.. there's no change in position of the giraffes
My QiQi was falling off but the giraffes were still at their same position
My QiQi changed 3 poses and the giraffes none. QiQi wins immunity!!! hehehe
Okie... it's children's world!!! Surprisingly, there were not many kids around so we almost had the whole playground to ourselves. Daddy Long helping QiQi in a slide
Kids wearing their diapers, playing with water. You got to be present to see the way these kids walked. Their diapers must be super heavy with all those water cos they couldn't run or even walk properly... so funny
Brought QiQi right in the centre of the water action. The water was freezing cold lo. I wonder how those mums allow their kids to play in the water... so cold...
Last picture of the day before we headed home. QiQi in swing.

We did not manage to complete our whole zoo journey though. There were still half the park to explore but we did not have the time. We came in too late (2+) and the park closes too early (6pm). Fear not, we will be back soon.... hehehe... See you!!!

Gloomy economy

Die la die la...

Even the 4th largest US investment bank, Wall Streets giant, Lehman Brothers, has filed for bankruptcy. It was Merrill Lynch and now it's Lehman. News has it that insurance giant AIG is next as it was reported to have sought a massive emergency loan to head off its own crisis.

The New York Times reported that AIG was seeking a 40 billion-dollar bridge loan from the Federal Reserve in the face of a possible downgrade from credit ratings agencies that could spell its doom.

US markets are in such turmoil now which I think is getting a little bit out of hand. I know nuts about all these but seeing my RMs getting all worried about the market, I think it's pretty bad.

Actually went online to search a little information here and there. Saw this article about this old man (who has super rich experience in the banking industry and quite a big shot - sorry I can't remember his name and I can't find that article now...arghhhh) saying that this is the worst crisis he has ever seen throughout his whole banking life and that the worst has yet to come.

ALAMAK!!!! Now I am talking about serious matter here. I think I can be 'POK' any minute given that the market continues to worsen by the day.

'DIO POK' these two words have never come across my mind as I was in a 'iron rice bowl' industry for the past six and a half donkey years. In fact, I was so used to not reading serious and important world's happenings and I can't pick up the habit of reading it now.... *paiseh face*. (My previous job only required me to know the annual Minimum Sum increment with stupid changes along the way wat... so cannot blame me for not reading de... excuses excuses and more excuses I know)

Now that I am in a completely new environment, reality really hits me hard. I heard my colleagues talking about serious matters like the current market situation and I am now super worried about my rice bowl le.

I think I can get laid off very very easily. It's as easy as killing an ant like that la. I can be asked to leave any minute any time. I think it's possible cos old people always say mah... banks are the most heartless organisation of all... their dictionary has no "COMPASSIONATE" de. And the fact that I have only been with them for 4 months, what's there to be compassionate la...

Very cham... now I cannot anyhow spend liao. No more scrapbooking materials and classes, no more continuation of AMORE, no more good food liao. Must scrap on anything that I can find at home and must eat kopitiam food liao... hehehe...

My friends, dun say I never warn you ar...

  • Those who have a habit of savings of S$100 to S$200 per month, please up your savings a little bit la.
  • Those who have the capability of savings more, please do so hor.
  • Those who thinks insurance is also a part of savings... you see la... even AIG is facing problem and falling apart... how to trust insurance??? Put $$$ underneath pillow better.
  • Those who likes to spend on unncessary wants (like me), please refrain the urge of spending unwisely le. I already did it by staying in a less expensive hotel (without breakfast somemore) in phuket.... wahahaha

Anyway, despite having said all of the above, I have to tell you all truthfully that I have never regretted quitting CPF Board and joining my current bank. I value the experience gain in every aspect and I find things more interesting than ever. I have met people from different walks of life (most good, some bad) and I truly enjoy my current colleagues' companionship. Serious serious.... no butt licking de...

BUT that doesn't mean my ex-colleagues no good wor... BERY GOOD also... wahahaha... you people know it de la. Anyway hor, if I kenna "POK" hor, can I be 'bad horse' and return to CPF???? wahahahaha... Nah... joking only... I don't want.

Arghhh... my Phuket trip ar...
Tuesday, September 2, 2008

Gone were the days that I agreed to go holidaying with my friends without hesitation. Gone were my straightforward, decisive and direct "Okie la. Onz la" answers and gone were the days of enjoying a long holiday with Ah Long and my friends.

Ever since QiQi is born, there are a lot of factors to consider before I make a decision. I guess it would probably take a while for me to go for another long trip. Thank God (or Buddha) that I actually went Europe before I gave birth to QiQi. Otherwise I would never have a chance to experience the life in Italy and Switzerland.

(BTW. in case some of you misinterpret my words, I'm not complaining about having QiQi. I'm just trying to say that having a baby would mean you no longer lead a carefree life. So for those who are considering having a baby, please be mentally and physically prepared :Þ (It's not as easy as it looks))

I'm not trying to hao lian la but to me, travelling is essential. I mean you only live once. Why not just get out of Singapore once in a while and explore the world as much as you can while you are still young? Correct anot?

I have been too busy coping with QiQi and my new working environment that I totally absolutely completely chuck the idea of holidaying aside for the past 1 year and 7 months.

Now that I'm coping better and with the fact that I need to clear a 5-days straight leave within this year (a requirement by MAS), I've decided to go for a short trip to somewhere where I can relax. No more joining of tour groups and rushing like mad schedule for me.

Krabi, Phuket, Bali even Maldives and Mauritius are some of the places on my list for what I call a relaxing holiday.

Since it is my well deserved break, I am actually prepared to stay in a slightly-more-than-my-usual-expense hotel. I want hotels with either direct pool access (so that I can jump straight into the pool the first thing I wake up in the morning) or hotel with big balcony overlooking the beautiful beaches.

With my high expectation, Maldives and Mauritius are omitted from my list almost immediately. as a simple 5-night stay in either Maldives or Mauritius easily costs me USD2300 per person!!! Oh.... My.... God!!! I'm prepared to spend a little fortune, yes BUT I'm not prepared to spend it unwisely... so there goes Maldives and Mauritius (even though the beaches are way better than those in Phuket and Bali). Anyway, I dun think I would be able to enjoy with just 5 days there.

Bali is the next to be omitted... for obvious reasons. BOMBING!!! Call me timid mouse or coward chicken la but I'm not going to Bali. Just as you feel it is safe there, another bombing attack striked. It's always the case for Bali. There has not been bombing for quite some time le and I am not going to risk my life going there... hohoho.

Next is Krabi. I actually love that place. Slightly less populated by tourists than Phuket so I assume it would be cleaner there. The only problem is.... there is no direct flight from Singapore to Krabi. I would either have to take a plane from Singapore to Bangkok then to Krabi OR from Singapore to Phuket then to Krabi.

What's the point right? Take here take there... machiam I'm spending a lot of days in Thailand. I only got 5 days and I would try to spend as little time as possible on travelling.

Which means to say... I'm left with PHUKET!!!

It took me a few days to finally decide on Phuket as my place of vacation. It took me another few days to check the timing and pricing of the different airlines. After much research, I decided to book my air tickets with SilkAir.

My E-ticket

Yeah!!! So happy... I finally placed my order! Am so looking forward to the trip. I started doing tons of online research on Phuket and their places of interest so that I can draw an itinerary for myself... And then....

晴天辟历阿!!!My colleague sent me this piece of shocking and unwanted news, first in the morning...
And second email in the afternoon

I tell you... I totally absolutely and completely sianz lo.

Don't these people have a life??? Why do they like to start all these nonsense once every few months??? Nothing better to do is it??? Don't they know they are ruining their own life cos they are disrupting their tourism business which could constitute major revenues for them???

Read the news and you will know that their stock exchange has already suffered severe damage because of this. It's not as if their life would change for the significant better if their PM (whoever he is) steps down right... their whole Government is corrupted anyway.

Gek sim leh... I was still happily searching for hotels to stay, blah blah blah....I guess I have to stop searching for now... just in case this whole riot thingy prolong to October. You never know...

Hiyahz... also good la (as in I can take a break from doing all those research). I would have time to scrap now.

Hopefully things will be better in October. Otherwise, I also dunno how. SilkAir will refund me anot huh?

????????????????????????????????????????
