Olympics 2008
Monday, August 11, 2008

I have been watching Olympics during my free time last weekend. Have you?

If you have not, hiyoooooo..... what have you been doing? Olympics only happens once every 4 years and you are not watching it??? Hiyoh... watch la... it's good... especially swimming and running.

I like to watch games with absolutely no bias-ness de. Purely skills that counts de... sports like swimming and running are my favourite although I am not good at either. :Þ

Sports like gymnastics, diving or those that purely depend on the judges' scores de are not to my likings la. Not that those people dun have skills la.. but there is still a certain degree of bias-ness in the scoring de (as it always have been... dun need to deny).

Anyway, watched the phenomenon Michael Phelps swim this morning. He is a prodigy la I tell you. How can he be so fast de??? Everytime I watch him compete, he is always like more than a body length away from the rest. He makes me wanna go swimming man... wahahaha...

For those 'sua kus' who dunno who Phelps is... here's his pics

Phelps in action... He looks hot in this poster...

For Thiam Eng: Are you impressed??? I know who Michael Phelps is leh.... wahahaha

After watching the sensational Phelps, Ah Long and I brought QiQi to East Coast for some photo takings (Will be posting the photos later cos this entry is not meant for QiQi. There will be a separate entry with beautiful pics of QiQi and her daddy and mummy soon... wahahaha).

In another words, I missed all the actions of the Olympics most of the afternoon.

I managed to watch the 3rd and final quarter of basketball - China vs USA though, at around 11pm the same night.

After watching the match, I just feel that Yao Ming (China's hero) has been extremely over-rated by his own people la.

I'm sorry to say this but don't you think he looks like a "char tao" (stone/rock in Hokkien) in the court??? He obviously did not have the stamina cos he looked like he was about to faint in the match.

His skills is not exactly superb as well. It's nothing compared to the Americans. U watch how the Americans passed the ball and then u look at Yao Ming's. Big difference.

Due to his lack of stamina, he did not manage to guard his opponents well. His opponents were like running all over but he simply walked up and down the court, catching his breathe.

His reflexes were super slow and he was ultimately replaced by his fellow team-mates in the final quarter.

So can someone please tell me how come this Yao-Ming is so famous despite the so many faults I've mentioned above?

I'm not a pro in basketball. The points mentioned are just based on yesterday's match. However, I do have some friends of mine agreeing with me wor. This goes to show I'm not the only one who thinks that Yao Ming is over-rated.

For those super "sua kus" who dunno who Yao Ming is... serious anot? This guy has been labelled a legend by some Chinese (which I dun understand why) and u dunno him??? NVM... Let me give u a peek of how he looks like....

Dun you think he looks like Frankenstein?? Oops... sorry... I insulted a legendery figure *sarcasm*
