My funeral
Thursday, July 31, 2008

I have been wanting to blog about this ever since the day I saw Mengru's blog about her funeral. I guess somewhere someday we all have to face this de. It's not a choy choy thing to mention anymore la... so let's just openly discuss about it ba.

My current possessions

  1. Branded bags - Can pass down to QiQi de. LV never die. It just gets more expensive. So by the time Qi grows up, my NeverFull is probably worth S$2K liao.... wahahaha...

  2. My CPF - As an ex-staff, I know what to do with CPF savings de. Got my nomination re-done after my ROM so there is not going to be any dispute for this la. For those who dunno, please re-submit your nomination after you have registered for your marriage hor cos after marriage, your previous nomination will be revoked. Dun say I never say.

  3. Personal savings - I dunno what will happen to this part la cos I have not done a will. People say it's necessary but I find it a chore especially when you do not have a multi-million fortune. Few grands only make what will sia???

  4. My "Beyond" collection - I will pass it to Beyond fan - Gabriel cos my Ah Long dun like Beyond. I know Gabriel will treasure it de cos he is one super BIG Beyond fan. Bigger than me. I crazy. He fanatic. Some of the things damn precious one... Got money also cannot buy it. Priceless items.

  5. My "Harry Potter" collection - Of course pass to my Qi lo. Let her read and enjoy the magical journey of Harry Potter with me mah. BTW, when is the sixth movie coming out? I want to watch leh.

  6. My scrapbooking materials - Of course to people interested in scrapbooking lo.... people like Hua Jie and May May lo... They will remember me whenever they scrap too... hiyoh... sounds so creepy... wahahaha....

  7. My gadgets - MP3, camera (I lost it damn it... oops... cannot say I lost it.. it's someone stole it. Damnit!), mobile phone, digital photo frame, polaroid were mostly bought by Ah Long. So needless to say, these will go to Ah Long too.

  8. My photos with my family and friends - I have loadsa it. I have the habit of developing photos especially those I really really like... I know it is a digital world right now la but I still feel we need photographs la... cannot merely see pic via computer only. Photo is still a must. So for those who want it, can take it. Otherwise, please burn it for me.

  9. My clothing - Guess no one wants it cos not branded ma... wahahahaha... please pack everything into a bag and donate it off la. Better this way than to discard it away ma...

I guess that's about all the things I have. When you really have to list them down, it feels so little la. But hor.... how come my house is like full of my things? No matter how much I discard, my house never seems clean or tidy! Funny sia...

My funeral decoration

I am a person of no religion. But most probably I will have those very Chinese funeral where you got a simple ceremony held over a few days under HDB flat.

I would like to use white and pink roses to decorate the 'bai bai' area. Please dun give me those 'Or Mi Tou Fuo' songs hor. Some Beyond and MayDay songs would be fine.

My dressing and makeup

Being a quite 'hyao' person, I would like to have a light makeup if possible la. As for my dressing, I would like to wear the white cheapo online bubble dress I bought from HuiPing. Although it's cheap, it looks really nice lo.

I think Ah Long will need to ask the dunno who to inject more chemicals into me cos that dress is a spaghetti top dress la. I dun wanna look too bloated in it. Keep this in mind huh... very important. If I'm all bloated up, please cover me with a shawl hor.

Shoes will be the pair of white shoes I bought when I was pregnant. Wore only once in CNY 08.

Burial items

  1. Few of my wedding photos. To remember Ah Long.
  2. Few of QiQi's photos. To remember QiQi.
  3. A wedding band. Ever since the stupid bike accident, my wedding band has been scratched and never replaced. Remember to put my original wedding band back onto my fourth finger before closing the coffin.

The Lorry's "Head" picture

Taken when I was 18 years old... wahahahaha... chio right? Of course la... makeover picture mah...

I still remember the very rude Lai Soek Mun saying this when she saw this picture in my house "Wa... Ah Ting, you really very chio in the past leh"..... wahahahaha... Very rude right? :Þ

The Atmosphere

A little bit of crying is inevitable de la hor. Must cry a bit to show me you are really sad to see me leave la... but dun cry a lot also la.

On my last day, please come and send me la.... I would like to see a very long line behind the lorry... to show my popularity... wahahahahaha...

My reincarnation

All hold to the doctrine of karma, I believe that actions in this life will have their effect in the next. I have done nothing bad in this life, so I hope to be human again in the next.

I am mesmerized by the beauty of Japan, its language and culture so I hope to be a rich Japanese woman in my next life.

Why rich, you are asking right?Cos I dun wanna to be a porn star lo... wahahahahaha... No la... I guess living in Japan is super stressful. Abo their suicide rate will not be ranked the second highest (after Russia) among the world liao. So I hope to be a rich Japanese so that I can truly enjoy life ma... Come on... it's not a greedy request... since I wasn't born rich in this life. :P

Singaporeans list key challenges to marriage and parenthood
Monday, July 28, 2008

I happened to come across news of this issue via yahoo news.

http://sg.news.yahoo.com/cna/20080716/tap-446-singaporeans-list-key-challenges-231650b.html

All of the sudden, I 有感而发,feel like writing my thoughts about this in my blog, so here goes...

Actually, whatever mentioned in the article boiled down to only one reason and that reason is the answer for the low birth rate in Singapore. Simply classified into one word and that is....... MONEY!!!

No money No talk la. As simple as that. I dun understand why our 'intelligent' Government and Ministers dun see this simple logic and are still pondering on the reasons why the Singapore birth rate never increase much despite their very 'appealing' baby bonus. (Or they choose to act blur???)

With the 'kia si lang' inflation and our measly pay and the super 'kia si lang' hospital bills, how many couples can truly afford to give the best for their babies without struggling?

Please tell our dear Singapore Ministers that their $3,000 baby bonus (paid out every quarterly) is not at all enough. I know this is an extra bonus for the Singapore parents la but please lo... please tell the Government to stop harping on the fact that they give $3,000 to each baby and up to $9,000 to the second and third baby so on and so forth.

They think this extra cash will spur young couples to have kids??? No lo... If young couples really want to have kids, no $3,000 they also will have a kid lo. If they dun want to have kid, you think this $3,000 can 'sia' them??? $30,000 maybe la.

I am very patriotic de but I really cannot stand the way Singapore Government does things sometimes. $3,000 only say until so big. 3 months maternity leave say until lagi big and this 3 months maternity leave is a hoax somemore lo. It's not exactly 3 months lo. It's 12 weeks inclusive of holidays lo. Super bluff people.

Look at the benefits of what some countries are offering its people before you hao lian la.

Germany - on Jan. 1 introduced a new government bonus of more than €10,000 (that is more than S$30,00 BTW) to parents, in an effort to encourage couples to have children and boost the country's flagging birthrate.

France - Mothers with modest incomes get a bonus of nearly €800 for each new child, as well as smaller monthly payments until a child's third birthday and help with child-care costs. In July, benefits to help parents with three or more children went into effect, giving a €750 monthly payment for parents who take one year's unpaid leave from work, or €513 a month for up to three years unpaid leave.

Serbia - The struggling government has provided subsidized kindergartens and an occasional incentive to cash-strapped couples. In keeping with a Communist-era tradition, working mothers enjoy a full year of maternity leave with wages marginally lower than their normal salaries.

Sweden - Since 1948, Sweden has made a monthly cash payment for each child under 16. The child allowance now starts at 1,050 kronor (€116; US$155). In 2001, the government increased the allowance for large families — parents with three children, for instance, receive 3,604 kronor (€400; US$530) per month, and those with four get 5,514 kronor (€611; US$811). Parents also get a generous combined 480 days of paid parental leave per child.

See the difference, ministers (who are earning millions)???

When u claim $$ from Singaporeans, you never reduce the amount nor would the amount remain the same. You just claim higher and higher each time (ERP, Income tax, utility bills, etc). BUT when you give $$ to Singaporeans, you proclaim it loud and clear and the amount you are giving out is either constant (Bonuses - One month fixed) or on a reducing basis (NRS, ERS, growth dividends, whatever shit 一年不如一年) S$200 for the increase in GST!!! S$200 can only buy 4 cans of milk powder for my QiQi thank you very much.... Gek sim...

Why dun all Singaporeans give you S$200 and you reduce the GST to 3%??? Just my suggestion...

No blog entries for July???
Sunday, July 20, 2008

I just realise I have no blog entries for the month of July!!!

Actually got la... but all in drafts... happy happy write a bit... then watch youtube... and then chat with friends on msn... and then forget about it... wahahaha...

I will be posting an entry of "My funeral" pretty soon though (inspired by my friend Mengru).... :Þ but meanwhile... let me just joint down some of my happenings this month before I forget.

Just signed up a facial package with AngelSky8. It is a.... ermmm... I dunno how to describe la cos it provides so many services there. It has got facial, massage, spa, gym, jacuzzi, steam bath, sauna, mani and pedicure, loss fats program, blah blah blah.. you name it la.

So for simplicity sake, I would just describe it as a beauty salon la hor. It's located at Orchard Road, behind Hotel Meridien. I like the atmosphere there. The place has an aura of elegance and tranquility that makes me feel at ease and I adore the purplish lightings there (My favourite colour).

So far, I have been to Angelsky twice (for facial) and I am going there for the third time with Junie and Ribena for their jacuzzi this coming Monday (can't wait for that).

Honestly speaking, for facial service, I still prefer my Kose de. I love it the way auntie Doris massaged my face and trimmed my eyebrow. I especially love their Kose cold mask. It's super cold. Chilled right down to my spine and I love that sensational feeling. Shiok man...

As for Angelsky8, their facial is good but not as good (in my opinion la). They have cold mask too but not as cold (in my opinion too la). Their beauticians are friendly and nice but not as nice as auntie Doris (cos auntie Doris wun cross sell things to me... hehe...)

But the ironic part is, my skin actually takes in the products of Angelsky8 better than Kose. Just one day after my first Angelsky8 facial treatment, I could feel the difference when I applied my makeup. My makeup actually sets in better than before. I'm not bullshitting or hallucinating hor. Even my colleague asked me if I had done something to my makeup cos it actually looked better... mai siao siao...

And the most important part is... their facial package is soooooo cheap lo... less than $40 per session. Can u believe it? My Kose costs me around $80 per session lo... half price man!!! How can I resist such a deal, you tell me... hehehe...

Once you become a member of them, you can use their facilities as many times as u wish. Meaning, you can go to their gym, jaccuzi, steambath, blah blah blah for countless times. This is especially good for those who have nothing to do after work.

I really have no regrets signing up with them la.

For those who want to have a feel of how this Angelsky8 is like, call me. I can bring you in for free. Once only la. After getting your 'free' facial, they will start to "po lo so' their services to you. Of course you can reject them if you dun like de. But if you like, then very good, we can go jacuzzi, steambath and loads more together le.... hehehehe...

Oops... forget to mention. This is only for the ladies.

P/S: I do not earn any commission or rebates from this. I am posting this cos I am a true believer in this phrase "The more the merrier"... hehehe...
